Climate Change is a reality facing the global community with potentially catastrophic consequences.
CCS is one of a number of technology options available that may reduce greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere.
South Africa is a developing country with a coal-based energy economy and has committed internationally to stabilising emissions by 2025. CCS provides one option to stabilise greenhouse gas emissions and the South African government has declared CCS a national research priority.
